Scripture: Joshua 1:10–11 (NKJV)

10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

11“Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’ ”

Power Points

The excitement of moving and the exercise of moving are two different things.

Point 1: Follow the Commands

Obedience is not optional.

Point 2: Use Your Time Wisely

Everyone gets the same amount of time, make sure you use it wisely. What determines your success in life if how you steward your time.

  • Spend Time – pay out (money) in buying or hiring goods or services. When you spend time, you are buying something.
  • Squander Time – waste (something, especially money or time) in a reckless and foolish manner.
  • Lost Time – denoting something that has been taken away or cannot be recovered.
  • Invest Time – expend money with the expectation of achieving a profit or material result by putting it into financial plans, shares, or property, or by using it to develop a commercial venture.
  • Deadline – the latest time or date by which something should be completed. I have to use my time wisely because I have a deadline.

Point 3: Pack Your Bags (Pack Your Meals)

What nourishment do you need to get to your destination? How can you get there if you don’t have the strength? Food gives you the strength for the journey; so, this is the season to make sure you’re eating. You can’t afford to not participate in spiritual development.
