FORWARD FOCUS

12 Days of Consecration

DECEMBER 1-12, 2024

Dear Family!

As we approach the close of another year, the transition into a new one always brings opportunities for reflection, vision, and preparation. For us as a church, 2025 isn’t just another calendar year—it’s a divine appointment. To prepare our hearts, minds, and spirits for what God has in store, we are embarking on a 12-day consecration.

This consecration is unique. It’s not centered on fasting from food or following dietary restrictions. Instead, it is a call to focus, to quiet the noise, and to tune our spirits to the voice of God. Each of the 12 days will represent a month of the upcoming year. Through prayer, reflection, and documentation, we will seek God’s direction for what lies ahead—for ourselves, our families, and our church.

Why Consecrate?

The concept of consecration is deeply rooted in Scripture. To consecrate means to set something apart as holy, to dedicate it for God’s purpose. Throughout the Bible, God calls His people to seasons of consecration before significant moments of transition, decision, or breakthrough.

Joshua 3:5 says, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” This verse reminds us that when we intentionally set ourselves apart for God, He moves in ways that exceed our expectations. Consecration isn’t about earning His favor—it’s about aligning with His will.

As we prepare for 2025, we believe this time of consecration will open our hearts to hear God more clearly. It’s an opportunity to pause, reflect, and ask, “Lord, what’s next for me? What’s next for my family? What’s next for our church and our community?”

The Focus of This Consecration

During these 12 days, our goal is to hear God about our future. Each day, as we dedicate our prayers and reflections to a specific month, we will seek His guidance for the opportunities, challenges, and blessings that may come.

This isn’t about predicting the future or trying to control outcomes. It’s about submitting our plans to God and inviting Him to lead us. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Through prayer and journaling, we will document what we sense God is saying, creating a spiritual roadmap for the year ahead.

Why Document the Journey?

The act of writing down what you hear from God is both practical and spiritual. Habakkuk 2:2 instructs us to “write the vision and make it plain.” When we document our prayers, thoughts, and impressions, we create a record that we can revisit throughout the year.

Journaling during consecration also allows us to:
• Track God’s faithfulness: As the year unfolds, we can look back and see how God’s words and guidance came to pass.
• Remain accountable: Writing down what God speaks helps us stay committed to His instructions.
• Encourage our faith: Revisiting documented prayers and revelations reminds us that God is actively involved in our lives.

How to Prepare for the 12 Days

1. Set aside intentional time each day. Whether it’s early morning, during a lunch break, or before bed, find a quiet space where you can pray and reflect without distractions.
2. Pray specifically for each month. Ask God what He desires for you and your family during that time.
3. Write down what you sense. Use a journal or digital notes to document your prayers, scriptures, and any impressions or ideas you feel are from God.
4. Invite your family to join. This consecration is not just about individual growth but also about strengthening families and aligning them with God’s purpose.

The Impact of Consecration

These 12 days are more than a spiritual exercise; they are an investment in your future. By consecrating yourself to the Lord, you position yourself to walk into 2025 with clarity, confidence, and faith.

This consecration is an opportunity to align your heart with God’s, to hear His voice, and to step boldly into the plans He has for you. Let’s embark on this journey together, believing that as we seek Him, He will guide us into all truth and show us what’s to come (John 16:13).
