Staying Committed to the Call

The apostles recognized that their primary calling was to preach and teach the Word of God. This wasn’t a dismissal of the need—they just knew that their purpose was spiritual leadership, not logistics.

When you understand your purpose, you’re able to say no to good things so you can say yes to the God thing.

They weren’t being arrogant—they were being faithful to their assignment..

Scriptures: 2 Timothy 4:2 , Luke 4:43

Being Rooted in Identity, Not Activity

By saying, “It is not right that we should give up preaching…,” the apostles were not suggesting they were too good for the task—they were simply affirming their God-given role.

Understanding your value means recognizing your identity is not tied to doing everything but doing what you’ve been graced to do.

When you know your value, you don’t feel guilty for not doing what’s outside your assignment.

Scripture: Ephesians 2:10

Understanding Your Contribution – Knowing What You Bring to the Table

Likewise, we are most effective when we contribute strategically.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:18 , 1 Peter 4:10 , Romans 12:6

When you leave your assignment to fix everything else, your unique contribution suffers.

The apostles stayed anchored, and because of that, the church got organized, people got served, and
