January 8 - January 31, 2024

Our corporate time of consecration is Monday, January 8 through Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Over this time, we will consecrate ourselves and our ministry to God through prayer and fasting.

Consecration 2024 will differ from previous years. We will fast Monday-Wednesday of each week until 1pm, and there is no specified diet. Use these three and half weeks to focus on God through personal time of devotion in prayer, worship, and the Word.

A Message From Our Lead Pastor

Hello Brook Family,

During this time of consecration, we want to position ourselves before God humbly. Take this time to be honest with yourself and God about where you are in life and your relationship with Him. For the next three and a half weeks, ask God for direction and clarity as we acknowledge and declare our dependence on Him in every area of life. Ask God to instruct you in what pleases Him and fully manifest His presence and power in your life.

If you need forgiveness in any area of your life, confess it to God. Be intentional about leaving those habits and environments that displease Him. When you pray, accept His love, healing, salvation, hope, deliverance, protection, provision, and strength! Pray with the expectation that God hears and will answer you.

Consecration Guide

Consecration is to devote or to set apart anything to the worship or service of God. We are taking the first month of this year to hear from God about His direction for our lives so that we can move forward with clarity. We want to posture ourselves to get closer to God by taking this time to pull away from the noise and to lock in on the things that He wants us to do in life. Click here to listen to the Set Apart series for more on consecration.

Limit use of the internet, social media, movies, television, cellphones and recreation during the consecration. This does not mean you can’t use the preceding for needful or spiritual things. Please use wisdom. Spend your time praying or reading your Bible or other Christian books. Spend a minimum of 15 minutes of prayer & personal devotion individually or as a family. Fasting is defined as abstaining from food, or to restrict oneself to a meager diet, either as a religious observance or as a ceremonial expression of grief; to go without food; also (contextually) to go without drink; to pass (time) fasting; to keep or observe (a day, etc.) as a time of abstinence.

We are asking everyone to participate in a total fast, where we only consume water, until 1:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Feel free to take additional days to fast if you desire.

This fast is not designed to cause you any physical, emotional or mental harm; so it is extremely important to follow your doctor’s orders/instructions. Please consult with your physician to clarify what you are able to do/level of participation, particularly if you are on medication or have existing health conditions.

As we fast on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, we will cover the next year with prayer. The schedule below is a corporate guide for our church family to focus on. Feel free to allow your personal prayer time to extend beyond the items on this list and daily even on Thursdays through Sundays when there is no required fasting.

Fasting for the 2nd Quarter of the 2024 January 15th – 17th

  • January 15th – April – The Lost/Salvations, Revival, Spiritual Maturity
  • January 16th – May – Children & Youth, Protection, Educators (all those who work with children)
  • January 17th – June – Men, Leadership, Fathers

Fasting for the 3rd Quarter of the 2024 January 22nd – 24th

  • January 22nd – July – Families, Marriages, Singles, Relationships
  • January 23rd – August – Local Community, Regional, State & the Nation
  • January 24th – September – Purpose, Spiritual Gifts, Businesses, Entrepreneurs

Fasting for the 4th Quarter of the 2024 January 29th – 31st

  • January 29th – October – The Brook, The Brook Fellowship, Churches
  • January 30th – November – Influence & Impact of The Brook
  • January 31st – December – Pastors/Leaders (Bishop Elect Simeon & Pastor Nikki Moultrie)
